Ultrasonic Flow Meter PCE-TDS 100HS
Order No: PCE-TDS 100HS
Ultrasonic Flow Meter PCE-TDS 100HS
Description
This is a portable, handheld clamp-on ultrasonic flow metre that is used to measure the flow speed of liquids in metal, plastic, and rubber pipes and tubes with a diameter of 20-108 mm (about 2-28 in.) without damaging the pipe or tube and with high accuracy. This ultrasonic flow metre is great for use in the oil and gas, water and wastewater, chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, metals and mining, pulp and paper, power, and heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) industries. It has velcro-strap clamps that make it easy to move the electroacoustic transducers.
acetone, alcohol, ammonia, benzene, butyrate, chloroform, ethanol, ethyl alcohol, ethyl ether, freon R 12, petrol, glycerin, glycol, isobutanol, isobutane, isopentane, kerosene, linseed oil, methanol, 1-propanol, antifreeze, lubricating oil, silicone oil, transformer
Using the transit-time principle, the following equation is used to figure out the flow rate:
v =
v = measured velocity
T1 = run time of the ultrasonic signal in the flow direction
T2 = run time of the ultrasonic signal against the flow direction
L = length of the ultrasonic wave
α = ultrasonic signal angle to the flow
The transit-time principle says that pipes must be full, with no bubbles or particles.
Note: SOFT-PCE-TDS software is needed to transfer data to a computer. This software is sold separately. For more information, see "Accessories."
Each PCE-TDS series metre is made in Germany by PCE Instruments and calibrated at the factory (without any documentation). PCE has a valid DAkkS calibration certificate for the reference display on the in-house test stand that is used for calibration. This makes sure that the data can be traced back to the German national standard set by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). Please keep in mind that the measured values of the metre depend on the shape, material, and coating of the pipe, the type, temperature, and speed of the medium; and the type of sensor and measuring method.
